Chicken bhuna and creamy masala

Hi there,

Tonight in my weekly visit towards Indian cuisine (in a takeaway menu kinda way) I decided to try and make two curries for a bit of variety at the table.

It turned out really delicious and I will try again for sure.

So here is the pictures of the end product.

Homemade chicken Bhuna along with creamy chicken masala.

First poems to be published

Hi there, hope all is well.

A couple of weeks ago I got my poem cruelest accepted for publication by United press Ltd and another haiku one accepted for moments of inspiration. I was pleased and it came as a big surprise as I had forgot I had sent them away.

Although they sent the proof back with a typo which was kinda funny.

It’s due out around christmas and the other one is around january I think. I get a free copy and apparently there’s a promo thing they do nearer the time so we shall see what that involves haha.

It’s an awesome end to my first year of poetry and gives me a motivational booster going into the second year.

Happy days!

The Burning House II

This is so cool, I want this on my wall!

SONY DSC 217_2016 Watercolor / Fabriano artistico satinized – ca. 76 x 56 cm / 29.9 x 22.0 in / ´The Burning House II´

I had to paint this again. After I have been really satisfied with my small watercolor-sketch I wanted to try a large format today. I stood up extra early today to make sure that I can finish it before I have to go to my work. I am getting used to the beautiful Fabriano Artistico paper and I used a bigger brush. Compared to painting smaller formats these large paintings are more physical in the painting-process. I feel like I have been in the gym after painting this one. I don´t think the result is perfect, but I am satisfied. I will try to paint more of the larger formats this month to get my brushwork loose. I have a bigger amount of sheets in stock now so…

Garden update GF

Hi there,

Garden progress (1st year)

image

image

The pictures above are of my balcony and back garden. The balcony is were the tomatoes and herbs are along with a greenhouse frame made from bamboo and black tape haha it’s really bad but it’s a work in progress. The back garden is a work in progress for vegetables and fruit.

This is the patch and greenhouse I have made for the strawberries. It’s very makeshift but i’m really pleased with it. I think it might be a bit small but at least the plants runners now have more room to flourish and hopefully the greenhouse will help increase the humidity and give some much needed wind protection.

Here are the leeks and beetroot. The leeks are doing okay but the beetroot seem to be thriving in the ground.  I have a couple more in pots as well so hopefully they will start to do just as good.

This is a lemon herb plant and is used more as a decorative feature for the garden.

This is one of two Apple trees; the other one isn’t doing so well. Hopefully in the future I can get both of them in the ground as part of a mini orchid. That would be awesome with a wee sitting area 🙂

Here are two plants already in the ground. Although this would be completely changed in the future. Ideally another patch for berries running up towards the area where the pea plants are and I would seal of the garden with a mesh type fence to stop the weeds from the neighbours garden from invading. I must say it’s really enjoyable seeing it all come together.

The cucumber plant has recovered really well from the slug and snail crisis it was going through early on. The leaves have such a strange feeling. I think I need this plant in a greenhouse with tomatoes and the like.

The peas are really interesting plants. They reach out and connect with each other, it’s so cool. I put in bigger bamboo sticks so they can continue to climb and hopefully thrive. The pot closest to the grey fence was blocked and hidden in the shade by a makeshift drawer pot filled with soil and spring onions which has since been dismantled.

The potatoes and carrots.

The potatoes have started to come up but i suspect it may be too late although i’m really pleased as i was sure they were long gone.

The carrots on the other hand have been kicking ass and I look forward to harvesting them. I need to spread the seeds better next year though.

Here are some tomatoes on the plants on the balcony, really cool but I really need them in a greenhouse it’s been terrible weather in Glasgow this summer.

If you can please donate on my gofundme page and help take my garden to the next level and fund my horticulture college course which starts on the 17th of August.

Thanks for reading and following!
