Today’s Art ( 28th December 2015)

I love the style of these paintings, really cool. Really like this one.

PekoeBlaze - the official blog

Well, I was still in the mood for making sci-fi paintings and, a few hours after I made yesterday’s painting, I made this one. Like yesterday’s painting, this one also ended up requiring a lot more digital editing than usual after I scanned it.

As usual, this painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Awake! You Sleepy-Headed Lark

Really enjoyed reading this today.

Random Musings

meadow-larkCopyright 2010 Matt Knoth

Awake! you sleepy-headed lark
and whistle us up a summer in the meadow.

We’re tired of the chill wind
clanging the shutters against the pane
and rattling the last cold leaves on the oak.

The cardinal sings his varied tune
in the barren branches, but we want a warmer song,
the trill of sun on new-mown hay.

Come now, you wayward songstress,
lever up the sun to her place on a higher plane,
and sing the dew onto the grass.

We’ve counted down the solstice minutes,
too few to hold the dying rays of the sun,
bring us a longer day from a more temperate latitude.

Warm our hearts with your morning song,
heralding the heat of a rising summer day.

“Hic de Virgine Maria Jesus Christus natus est “by Sofia Kioroglou

Here is a poem from sofiakioroglou

so remarkably unimpressive
and yet so holy.
I long to visit you
Small and humble
but great and glorious.
Hic de Virgine Maria Jesus Christus natus est
an inscription reads
as I get to a grotto.
A fourteen-point silver star
embedded into the marble
is now indelibly embedded into my memory
scorching its way into my heart
burning that moment into my brain.

I really like this painting

The Frustrated Watercolourist

DSCN0500                                     The Four Robbins

I have just begun to think about more wintry scenes and my Christmas cards for retail………………………. I wanted a wintry image; so decided on this garden image, I painted my french watering can, awash with the nations favourite bird; the robbin.

This was painted on Bockingford pale blue paper, which suits the snow.
