This Ain’t No Fairy Tale

Really enjoyed this blog from callummclaughlin, nice!

Callum McLaughlin

Like serpents wearing diamond lures
knocking on my skin,
the hollow words of how I’m yours
that leave you with a grin.
Where’s my happy ending?

The strongest hands I’ve ever known,
they mould my heart like clay.
You’re sitting proud upon your throne
while keeping me at bay.
Where’s my happy ending?

This puppeteer holds all the strings
like the deep roots of a tree,
even if I sprouted wings
I never could go free.
You are my happy ending.

And yet I do not smile.
